Benefits of Participating in the S-STEM Program

Scholarships
The S-STEM is a last-dollar scholarship, meaning that it is awarded after all other financial aid is considered. Students are eligible for a maximum of $15,000/year for the duration of their undergraduate degree as long as they remain in an eligible major and in good academic standing.

Student Success Course
In their first year, S-STEM Scholars will have the opportunity to participate in a First-Year Experience (FYE) course that helps get them situated at the University and provides them skills and resources to support their growth as a student.

Mentoring
S-STEM Scholars take part in a structured mentoring program. After completing the Student Success Course, scholars will be matched with both a faculty and a peer mentor.

Programming
A variety of curricular and co-curricular programming is available to S-STEM Scholars, including guest speakers, career development workshops, planning for graduate school, research experiences, and internships.
