or Statistics Major?
The NSF S-STEM targets academically talented students with an interest in STEM who are first-generation and/or demonstrate financial need. Students can be awarded up to $15,000 per year for the entirety of their degree, and participate in unique curricular and extracurricular activities, mentoring, and other support services. The goal of the program is to prepare students for a successful career in their chosen STEM field after graduation.
Eligible Majors Include
- Computer Science (CoE)
- Computer Science and Engineering (CoE)
- Computer Engineering (CoE)
- Data Science and Engineering (CoE)
- Statistics (CLAS)
- Statistical Data Science (CLAS)
- Applied Mathematical Science (CLAS)
- Actuarial Science (CLAS)

Applications for AY 26/27 are now open for students starting in Fall 2026.
